Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Beauty That Continues To Grow!

February 8, 2017momstownFeaturedNo comments

Every year, millions of loved ones exchange bouquets of cut flowers on Valentine’s Day… and a few days later those flowers are looking pretty sad. Why not change it up by taking your special someone to a beautiful (and warm!) indoor botanical garden? Bring the whole family on a mid-winter journey through a wonderland of colourful sights and smells. To make it easy, the volunteers at Canada Blooms are sharing with you their top Ontario picks for the best gardens worth a visit during this “month of love:”

Centennial Park Conservatory – Open year-round, this 12,000 square foot horticultural gem in Etobicoke features a tropical house, arid house and show house, displaying a range of fascinating plant collections and breathtaking seasonal displays. It is the ideal spot to refresh, relax, reconnect and recharge with your loved one on February 14th.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory – If you’re looking for something unique and special, this 11,000 square foot greenhouse is home to over 100 species of exotic plants and flowers, and for an extra treat – there are free flying butterflies fluttering around everywhere you turn! Talk about an unforgettable date strolling through this wondrous paradise.

Allan Gardens Conservatory – Open 365 days a year, this historic, botanical treasure located in downtown Toronto is the perfect place for an afternoon getaway with your Valentine. Wander through six different greenhouses showcasing exotic and diverse plants from around the world including palms, banana trees, orchids, jasmine and gingers.

Toronto Botanical Garden – Now, if you don’t mind the weather or need to catch a breath of fresh air, a romantic walk through the outdoor trails of this botanical garden is always an option.

These are just a few of the gardens that give us an option to enjoy the beauty of living flowers and plants on Valentine’s Day. Check the Ontario Tourism link here for more.
If you and your family want to explore more fun with flowers, a few weeks later you can enjoy the spectacular garden and floral displays at the Canada Blooms Show which takes place at Exhibition Place in Toronto March 10th to 19th, 2017.
