As we go about enjoying our summer fun, we were humbled today by a story from one of our friends in Israel who was swimming with her family, heard a siren and had 90 seconds to get to a bomb shelter, followed by explosions.
Afterwards they went back to the pool.
Politics aside, it's a sharp reminder of the unrest that others just like us face each day, and that no one anywhere should have to live that way.
We must not take for granted the simple pleasures in our lives, like enjoying a splash in the pool with the kids on a hot summer day, nor forget to pay attention to what's happening in the world around us.
We're very lucky, and we know it. To those families around the world living their daily lives in fear, we wish safety, peace and love.
