You wake up and the weather is nice. Time to get out of the house, but where to go? Looking for animals but don't want to trek all the way out to the zoo?
Open daily (and with free admission) we think Riverdale Farm is a perfect day outing in downtown Toronto.
Whether you're a seasoned vet who's been 50 times or a new mom looking for places to go, Riverdale Farm is a great option. A favourite of kids and parents alike, for us, its kind of like Toronto Island, when you're there you wonder why you don't go there all the time.
Visit a working historic farm, visit the animals, check out the barns, talk with the farm staff, take a relaxing walk through beautiful park land. Bring a picnic, and for special treats there is a kitchen that is open on a limited basis with goods available for sale.
Drinking water fountains are available, as are public washrooms that even have a wooden change table to suit the historic building they're located in. Outside the entrance in Riverdale Park West, you'll even find a splash pad for extra summer time cooling off and fun. You can also follow the farm on Facebook for news about special events and activities.
Go visit, its a momstown favourite, and we're sure it will be one of yours too. 🙂
